Night Day 3
Today has been an adventure. But first Elliot and I would like to say happy Mother's Day to our wonderful mothers Susan Margolies and Lori Oneal. We love you both and hope you had a great day! Sorry we could not be with you to bring you breakfast in bed! After leaving Bemidji, we decided we could not pass up the opportunity to ride the entire length of the Paul Bunyan Trail. It's absolutely incredible to be able to ride through the woods on a personal bike path. After seeing Bald Eagles and countless breathtaking views we ran into a little difficulty while riding through Chippewa State Park. Home to over 1700 Timberwolves. Aside from the steep winding hills, Elliot and I did run into a Timberwolves while in the park. It was about 100 feet in front of us, and yes they are big! Luckily we were able to scare it off the trail with our air horns. We are currently safe and camped on the shoreline of a beautiful lake in Hackensack, Minnesota. We rode about 68 miles today an hope to camp in Brainerd, Minnesota tomorrow night. We are both exhausted from the day and will be falling asleep early tonight! We would also like to thank our wonderful mothers again for helping make this trip happen. We love you you both! Check back in tomorrow for another update! Sweet dreams from Hackensack!
