Evening day 1

60 miles turned into 40, and we are at camp site #3 in Lake Bemidji State Park. Big thanks to the Bike Guys bicycle shop for fixing my broken seat clamp. Luckily they had a clamp that was able to fit my Surly Long Haul. Very nice camping grounds at Lake Bemidji State Park. Since the ice is not yet off the lake yet there aren't many people around. We have a fire going thanks to Elliot's days in the Cub Scouts, and met two very nice park rangers Margy Collins and Nathan Stolt. Big thanks for your kindness in assisting Elliot and I with our map and sweet tooth needs! Forecast looks like a low of 29 degrees tonight so we will be around the fire late. Elliot's currently mummified in his sleeping bag on top of a picnic table next to the fire. We are looking forward to riding a little of the Paul Bunyan Trail tomorrow that will connect us back with our main route.
